Hiking to Taft Point is short and sweet. The payoff is huge for the minimal effort. That being said, the luck of catching a bird flying at the same time was something i couldn’t predict.
I was crouched down, photographing this guy about 25ft away in one of the meadows in Yosemite National Park, when the sound of the shutter peaked his interest. This Mule Deer buck walked up, stood over me, and just stared into my lens. I just sat there, taking photo after photo, but at the same time just looking at him and taking in the moment. There was no aggression. There was no threat. Just two living beings looking at one another. After a few minutes, he walked away and that was it.

The daily grind of living in the Bay Area was getting my girlfriend and I down, so we decided to go and relax in Yosemite. We were met with the most beautiful spring and welcomed the relaxing views with open arms.

The setting sun lights up El Capitan as it fades into dusk. Each year I make the pilgrimage to Yosemite to photograph the Firefalls, which is great. And while I love to photograph that event I find myself always coming back to Valley View. While it may be overly photographed, Valley View is just a simply beautiful view under the right light. I photographed this with my secondary camera as my D810 was on a Syrp slider track capturing a timelapse.
After starting a collective of Instagram hubs/members from across the country, we all flew out to San Francisco to meet each other and ended up taking a side trip to Yosemite. This photo represents the power of Instagram and how it can unite strangers from all around the country (many of which have become very close friends).

It was a very cold December morning and it seemed like I had the whole park to myself. I had been at this spot shooting stars the night before and thought it would be a good sunrise spot and it really was amazing.

Spent the weekend in Yosemite and noticed a group of people gathered on the side of the road. Pulled over to see what was happening. One of the most unbelievable sights I've ever seen and I witnessed it on a fluke encounter.
It was a cold November day in Yosemite. We heard cable was down, but we headed to the Half Dome anyway. It was perfect for us. No permit was required, and there was no crazy crowd, only the people who love and admire the beautiful monolith, who's willing to try climbing it with bare hands. Then where was the sunset. It was majestic. We did not expect any of these, but all of these were just given to us. It was our day.
